After another fab wedding season almost done, the fam and I managed to pop over to Raro for a bit of R & R. Heres part of our story.
Nothing better as a parent then seeing your off spring happy and (quietly) playing. Just watching them in their own little world, chatting away lost in their own imagination (even if it was about a giant poop train (stick) crashing into another pile of poop (coconut's)........ (Sigh)
After zoning out from all the poop talk, I loved nothing more than watching Toby play in the warm, pristine water. We spent most of our time on sand and in the water. Lots of snorkling, lots digging and filling holes in the sand, some more digging and some more filling. He looked so cute with white sand stuck on his face, those are the little moments that I'll always reminisce on.
Another highlight was visiting the lost hotel, The Sheraton. Rarotonga's abandoned hotel. The 80 million dollar project, with over 460 rooms was so close to being finished (90% complete) before construction was stopped. It is now completely abandoned. Crazy!
It was mind blowing walking around (not only for taking photographs) but the share scale of it and the fact that we had open access to every room and corridor. (No hard hats or hi vis required) all for a $fiver. - wedding photography anyone???? : )
